Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization with more than 1.3 million members globally. In 1925, Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness". Since then, Lions clubs everywhere have worked tirelessly to aid the blind and visually impaired.
The Belmont Lions are proud members of District 33. Massachusetts is divided into five districts across the Commonwealth, and we meet regularly to work together on achieving the mission set forth by Lions International. The Belmont Lions Club is an active member of the Belmont community; from support of education initiatives and youth activities to our partnership with other community organizations. We support the Mass Lions Eye Research Fund, established to find a cure for retrolental fibroplasia or premature baby blindness, among other non-profits.
